In the vast expanse of the professional world, nothing is more critical than the safety and health of workers. It’s an aspect that should never be taken lightly, for it is the cornerstone upon which successful and sustainable businesses are built. A testament to this is the BALcanOSH network, a beacon of safety and health in the workplace, whose journey is as inspiring as it is impactful.
Our story begins at the World Congress on Safety and Health at Work 2014, held in Frankfurt. Amidst the bustling crowd and the hum of discussions, an idea was born. An idea that would eventually evolve into the BALcanOSH network. This was no ordinary idea. It was a commitment to fostering a culture of safety and health across workplaces, a pledge to protect workers, and a promise to build safer futures. A year later, in the picturesque city of Ohrid, Macedonia, the BALcanOSH network took its first steps.
The first BALcanOSH conference was held here in 2015, marking the beginning of a new era. This gathering was more than just a conference. It was a collective effort to shape a world where safety and health at work are not afterthoughts, but the heart of every operation.
Following the success of the first conference, the network moved forward, and in 2016, the second BALcanOSH conference was held in Bled, Slovenia. The event was a testament to the growing influence of the network and its unwavering commitment to its cause.
The third conference, held in Budva, Montenegro in 2017, further solidified the network’s position. It demonstrated that the BALcanOSH network was not just about discussions and conferences, but about actions and results.
As the network expanded, so did its reach. In 2018, the fourth conference took place in Prishtina, marking another milestone in the network’s journey.
In 2019, the fifth conference was held in Durres, Albania, continuing the tradition of bringing safety and health professionals together to share knowledge, experiences, and ideas.
However, in 2020, the world was hit by the Corona19 pandemic. This unprecedented event brought many activities to a halt, including the BALcanOSH conferences.
But the network did not waver. It adapted, persevered, and continued its work, albeit in a different format.
Now, as we stand in October of twenty twenty-three, the BALcanOSH network is gearing up for its sixth conference.
To be held in Kopaonik, Republic of Serbia, this event symbolizes the resilience of the network and its unwavering commitment to its mission.
So, in this video, we have traced the remarkable journey of the BALcanOSH network. From its inception at a world congress in Frankfurt to its upcoming conference in Kopaonik, the network has remained steadfast in its mission to promote safety and health at work.
Each conference has been a key event, marking the network’s growth and its increasing impact on workplaces across the globe.
The BALcanOSH network and its conferences are more than just events.
They are catalysts for change, platforms for sharing knowledge, and vehicles for promoting safety and health at work.
They remind us of the importance of protecting workers, of building safe environments, and of the role each of us plays in this endeavor.
As we look forward to the upcoming conference and beyond, the importance of the BALcanOSH network cannot be overstated.
It serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to ensure safety and health at work.
It is a beacon of hope, a testament to resilience, and a promise of a safer and healthier future for all workers.
