The reform of the occupational safety and health system in the Republic of Serbia began with the adoption of the Law on Occupational Safety and Health in November 2005. This law introduced a series of innovations in this field and is based on the application of preventive measures at all work levels, involving the creation of such work conditions where risk assessment is conducted during work and work processes organization. This aims to eliminate or minimize risks to the lowest possible level, thus avoiding the occurrence of work-related injuries or occupational diseases among employees. This creates the conditions for preventing or eliminating the risks of potential injuries, occupational diseases, or work-related illnesses, with the goal of achieving full physical, mental, and social well-being of employees.
