Macedonian Occupational Safety and health associaton marked April 28-

The “Macedonian Occupational Safety and Health Association” traditionally marked April 28, the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. The theme of this year’s campaign is aimed at young people.

The World Day for Safety and Health at Work (SafeDay) and the World Day Against Child Labour (WDACL) are coming together in a joint campaign to improve the safety and health of young workers and end child labour.

In order to stimulate preventive culture, in the past period MOSHA realized more info meetings, visits to companies that implement good practice for safety and health at work.

All of this was documented with a video and published at a public debate in Library “Brakja Miladinovci”.

The main speakers were students of secondary schools , representatives from student organizations. The following topics were addressed:

– How often young people are familiar with occupational health and safety?

– How often do they meet with OSH in the educational process?

– What are their suggestions for improving working conditions and increasing awareness of the importance of safe and healthy workplaces?

The general conclusion was that education  is needed from the earliest age, greater representation in the educational process, more such discussions should be organized in order to talk about the importance of this field.

At the end of the event, all the participants were given gratitude for their proactive approach, and the students who participated in the media contest at the World Congress on Safety and Health at Work in Singapore, diplomas.

Traditionally, for the 10th time in a row, the Annual Report on Accidents at Work was published. The data show that in Macedonia in 2017 there were 158 accidents, of which 24 are fatal.

We continue with our mission – to create safe and healthy generations.
