On March 22, 2017, the President of the Macedonian Occupational Safety and Health Association Mr. Milan Petkovski attended the RCC Academy of Sciences on the reception of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Macedonia as a full member of the International Confederation of Trade Unions (ITUC) and the European Confederation of Trade Unions (ETUC) , as one of the activities within the Project “Promotion of Social Dialogue”, financed by the European Union, and implemented by the International Labor Organization.
The KSS’s admission to the World Trade Union Confederation has great significance in many aspects. With her membership she gets in increasing her real power and position in front of her own country, within the laws regulating union positions, and even more is a clear signal and message to the workers in our country.
First of all, Mr. Ralkovski, President of the KSS, stressed the importance of involving KSS as a full member of the International Confederation of Trade Unions (ITUC) and the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), and then shared the most important activities and achieved results over the entire past period.
“The tripartite and bipartite dialogue has been enhanced by strengthening the capacities of the social partners, by implementing a number of trainings in the direction of improving collective bargaining, enhanced participation in the policy-making process, as well as strengthening the capacities of the members of the economic and social council and its working bodies. Social dialogue is the most important link for development and promotion, both of workers’ rights, as well as of the obligations and rights of employers. That is why we will focus on our future goals, “said Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Mr. Ibrahim Ibrahimi.
Mr. Dojcin Cvetanovski, founder of the KSS, addressed the formal academy, addressing the trade union ambience in Macedonia a decade ago when they faced the challenge of forming a new trade union organization.
